OKAYS people. i'm back from camps! been a busy week. and it was all worthed it.

FIRST EVENT
Date: 3TH March 2008 - 5TH March 2008
School: Fairfield Methodist Primary School
Event: Annual P5 Adventure Camp
Location: Pasir Ris Park

alrite with that said, the camp kicked off with a BANG. i met the kids the first time. wee... was very enthu actually.. wana see what challenges awaits me from this bunch of people. haha... sure to haf notti kids, and all de. first day, spent some time organising abit, getting to know them alittle better. Hope they like me.. haha! otherwise being their instructor will be hard work...

being a section leader has made me learn many things. not only leadership skills, but also emergency responses. like what if this happens, what to do, and things like that.

There were 343 students attending this 3 days 2 night camp. seperated into 16 groups. and the 16 groups were further seperated into 4 sections. 1 section leader (ME)+ 3 instructors for 1 section.

so for my section, SECTION A, i had total 85 kids under me. personally taking charge of group 1. HUAN DA was in charged of group 2, PEIWEN was taking care of group 3, and MELISSA was taking group 4.

what happened in the camp, i tink no nid to say too much oso.. of coz it was fun =DD i hope the kids enjoyed themselves too.. hahahaha... well... i oso dunoe how much i can talk about anything. but still. i wana thank these students. who were also referred to darlings whenever i needed them . heh.

DArLINGS:
Nurul Jannah (GROUP 1) - for being so helpful in the first day activities

Theodora (GROUP 1) - also for being very nice and helpful =DD

amos (GROUP 1) - he's a monitor of his class, so i relied on him for organising the people for me.. haha !

abigail (GROUP 1) - a poor little girl who had a phobia of anyone called DERRICK. coz apparently they had a teacher with the same name. and that teacher scolded her so badly that she's so afraid of him. but still! keep sticking around with me during 2nd day onwards also. haha ! good girl luh. haha ..

amelia (GROUP 2) - one of my most problematic kids. but still, after spending some time, on the 2nd day, i made her follow me wherever i go during canoe session. otherwise she'll anyhow run here and there again. and go around disturbing other kids and other kids will start scolding her again.. dunoe why i quite protective of her, i'll ask other kids to keep quiet and all when they scolding her de... partly coz amelia is autistic and all.. low attention span ba..

zenna (GROUP 2) - one of the three whom was talking together at the toilet in the middle of the first night. coz they dowan to sleep. but yea, not from my group. =D

peace (GROUP 2) - one of the three also! it was really nice knowing you all..

yee sin (GROUP 4) - one of the three as well.

TO zenna, peace and yeesin, i dunoe wad i can say, but i really feel that we're really close. mayb coz we talked alot more than between me and my other kids luh. haha... dunoe how come u all siao siao wan, midnite liao no nid sleep wan.. keep asking wad time is my debrief ending, and all.. so sry i can't really talk to u all that much during the camp. dun haf that much time! debrief ended at 5AM for the first nite, and 3AM for the 2nd night. lol i wouldn't want you all to stay awake the whole night to wait for me also.. so ya.. haha !

instructors to mention are: carol, ai shu, lynette, zihao, junwei, keith, eden, and of course all my SP friends who was working on this camp together. it was really great teamwork from everyone ! haha. my 2nd day event was partnering with Ai Shu at the canoeing station. she can canoe really well man! lol i feel that i suck. lolololol. oh well. thats roughly all for instructors.

this camp wouldn't be nice without everyone! once again. THANKS alot. its a memory i'll never forget. =D very mixed emotions.. there were many things i wanted to type in this blog post, but i cant really type them all out.. i just know i feel very reluctant to let the kids go back to their school, and get back to their real life. and not as though they were in camp. but, i can't.. coz its their school times afterall.. hees =D after i sent everyone back to their school, i guess i teared abit, coz i miss them alot. afterall being with them for a whole 3 days, already bonded together le ma... haha.. but still... yea... glad was able to contact with some luh... haha.... alrites, may everyone stay happy and safe. till the next time we meet ba !! =DD

2ND EVENT
Date: 6TH March 2008
School: Nanyang Girls High School
Event: Secondary 1 Lifeskills Camp 2008
Location: Safra MT Faber

Alrite, this camp is a one day lifeskill course outing. the kids have already had the camp in their own school for 1 day, this is the 2nd day of the camp. their outdoor day.. =D 3 main events, trekking, mass dance and water activities.

the total time of the event was only from 9AM, where they came in buses, till 4.30PM where they returned back to school. a short 8 and a half hours only. there were approx 400 students for this camp. they were damn enthu wan i tell u all. NANYANG cheering rox!! (no offence to my fairfield kids, haha =P) but these nanyang bunch were really great.

2 of us instructors took a group of students. they were seperated into 24 groups. each group is actually an entire class. for my class, i should say, are all the ELITES. why would i say so? i got to talk to some of my kids when we were doing trekking. den i realised the entire class was made up of people with >265 aggregate for PSLE. HAHA.. i feel so dumb when i'm wif them. haha! but anyways.. apart from that, their leadership skills were all SIBEI GOOD can. my class itself, a total of 34 students, were made up of PREFECTS, MONITRESSES, AMBASSADORS, LEADERS, PREFECTS, CAPTAINS, EXCOS, and all! from the namelist i received, there was alittle info about the students de ma.. this was under the section "LEADERSHIP POSITION IN PRIMARY SCHOOL". i was taken aback. like seriously. i had like 8 monitress, 2 goodwill ambassadors (i dunoe wads that, but sounds really cool), 1 resource leaders, 1 band leader, 1 tennis captain, 2 house captains, 2 vice captains, 13 prefects, 4 head prefects, and all. its like, OMG la, totally made up of ELITES i should say. haha

whenever i needed a cheer from my group, the norm from a camp. camps without cheers are not camps luh. haha... they would always haf a group of like 3-5 students who would lead the cheers, i didnt even haf to shout at the top of my voice, like what i did to my fairfield kids (no offence har, fairfield kids. =X). they were automated luh!.. they were competitive, and didnt wan to lose to neighbouring groups wan. so keep cheer louder and louder. lolx.. though didnt really spent alot of time together, but it was really fun for the day's event lah.. haha ! a few names i manage to remember

Siew Ting (GROUP 13) - lol, not feeling well, den keep walking slowly behind when we were doing trekking. one of the bunch who was chattering away with me at the back of the group.

Rachel (GROUP 13) - lols, also on of the bunch lo.

shanna (GROUP 13) - i dun remember much liao.. coz didnt really talk much, but roughly these were the few people i remember about..

haha, thanks to everyone that the events were carried out nicely and i hope everyone had fun luh. haha ! the mass dance was funny also.. we instructors had our fair share of fun. Mark, Yi Xin, Nina, Shafiq, are just some of the instructors from my section, it was fun working with them also. haha =DD

when they got on the bus and left at the end of the day, it was as though we became jay chou and david beckham for a short while, with everyone waving to us and all.. haha stupid right.. but fun day. fun.. =DD after the events, we went to take a shower and got ready to head back to pasir ris park for the 2nd camp that was ongoing there. but i was only going to help out for campfire. heh =D

3RD EVENT
Date: 6TH March 2008
School: Compassvale Secondary School
Event: Secondary 3 Adventure Camp 2008
Location: Pasir Ris Park

this was actually an event i didnt participate in. but this was a back to back camp event. meaning everything was so packed that i couldn't possibly split myself up to go so many camps.. 3rd - 5th march fairfield camp, and this camp was from 5th - 7th march. my nanyang girls event was on 6th march ma.. haha... alrite so there was another bunch of instructors doing this camp. amee, shermian and xuejia were among those doing that was from SP. so yea..

haha, i juz went back to the camp site at around 6pm liddat. to help out wif campfire activities after my nanyang girls event over at mount faber. WAN drove us there, so it was rather shiok. haha =DD went back there to find out that the grass field was super duper muddy, cant possibly hold campfire event over there. so held an indoors one.. helped out abit here and there, and the kids came over le.

the whole campfire ended at say 10PM +/- ba.. but the mood was high, played some popular music, and as usual. the campfire ended with westlife songs, some hits which everyone sure to hear before de. like I lay my love on you, flying without wings, my love, and many other nice songs. haha, brought up the mood of it.. =D it was really tiring to haf so many events together at the same time.. didnt even have enough sleep luh! lolx... but still it was nicely done...

for this compassvale one, i guess carol, hui hua, glenn, zi hao, eddie, and all those senior instructors who were making everything happen!.. they really put in damn lot of effort lo..

lols, i left pasir ris at around 12.30am liddat.. to go home. carried my heavy bag all over wif me, since the nanyang girls event, i didnt even go home.. i was so damn beat also.. so many days of continuous little sleep. how to tahan! lolx.. den slept till now den i wake up le ... lots lots of miss call and sms.. lol guess some people do miss me afterall...

whew, finally type finish this long post liao. i tink i write very long.. from 9PM write till now 10PM le... in all, i really enjoy the camps luh !! =DD love my kids, like the instructors, and everything else about the whole week that's just passed for me ! ... haha... alrite ba... this marks the end of my camping spree this week le...
